Hotel Molitor

Piscine d'EtéReopened a few years ago as a luxury hotel and spa, Molitor has not always been the same. Yet, regardless of its primary function, this amazing space was, is, and will probably always be a Parisian institution.

First opened in 1929, the avant-garde Molitor was Paris’ most famous swimming pool for 60 years, turning into an ice skating rink during winter. In fact, my father-in-law went ice skating there as a child!
The place was then closed and classified as one of Paris’ historic monuments, a label helping keep the city’s most iconic monuments alive and constraining all renovation to be made as close as possible to the original. It is therefore quite unbelievable that the building became one of the top places of Parisian underground lifestyle during the 90s. Street artists went into Molitor to tag the walls and host parties, all of which was, of course, completely illegal. In 2001, a rave party with about 2000 people was even held! The last major event that took place in the abandoned building was John Galliano’s S/S 2010 fashion show in June 2009.
In 2010, Molitor finally became private, the renovations started to be planned and lasted 4 years.

Suite Junior hublotThe beautiful hotel we know now was inaugurated in Spring 2014. It is composed of 5 different parts: the hotel of course, with 224 rooms and two amazing swimming pools (an indoor pool under a glass roof and an outdoor pool, heated all year long), the restaurant, the bar, the rooftop and the spa.
Each area has its own atmosphere and feels like a different place, but no matter where you go, you will be welcomed by an always helpful and very kid-friendly team.

All rooms of the hotel have a view of the outdoor swimming pool and a few of them even have a private terrace. Cribs and baby bathtubs can be installed in your room upon request and the hotel will lend a few toys for the swimming pools. On Wednesdays, swimming classes for kids from 3 to 12 are available.

Suite Junior TerrasseHigh chairs and a kids menu are available at the restaurant, also offering a swimming pool view. On Sundays, brunch is served from 12:00PM to 4:00PM and while adults finish their meal, a professional team of babysitters will take care of the kids in a playroom entirely dedicated to them.

The bar is a cozy space with comfy armchairs and sofas, divided in several nooks with views of one pool or the other. The rooftop is the perfect place to have a glass of wine on a hot Summer evening and enjoy the sunset over Paris. Lunch and dinner are also served. Both of these places are not typically for kids but Oscar and I have always been treated very nicely in both of them.

Bar / Bibliothèque

The beautiful spa offers a wide range of massages and body treatments by Clarins, some of which are especially intended for pregnant women.

Salle de detente et relaxationEvery additional request will be considered and the team will make their possible to satisfy all your needs.

Piscine d'EtéIf you want to spend your trip to Paris in a unique historical place of the capital and enjoy the luxury of all of the above surrounded by a super kids-friendly staff, Molitor is the right place for you!
