Columbia Road Flower Market

Columbia Road is one of London’s most colourful markets, colourful in every sense of the word! Every Sunday morning this sleepy East London side street is transformed into a bustling, flower cornucopia. A feast for the senses, overflowing with bright colourful blooms as far as the eye can see.

The lively market traders fill the air with their cheeky banter whilst crowds of delighted customers gather up armfuls of bouquets at knock down prices. Its an experience that has to be seen to be believed and if like me you enjoy taking photos its definitely worth bringing your camera along.

The market kicks off around 8am and begins to wind down around 2pm. At peak times it can become extremely busy so you’ll need a lot of patience and sharp elbows to bag the best deals. If crowds are not your thing its probably best to avoid market day and explore the street on a saturday instead, when many of the cute independent shops and are much quieter.

There’s a cute park nearby for families to escape the throng and plenty of tasty food stalls and cafes to grab a bite to eat.
