When you are sitting at a table with a sunset view over the mediterranean with a glass of wine in one hand and your little one sleeping peacefully next to you after a funfilled day at the beach, you know you are on holiday. Barraca is a small cosy restaurant on the beachfront of the barceloneta with excellent service and great food. Barracca is most known for its rice dishes (different types of Paellas), and although I am not going to tell you that this is my favourite paella of Barcelona (since I have to be honest — my dad makes the best paella), this doesn’t follow far behind.
This family restaurant is one I have come to love not just because of the food and the good service (which is a good enough reason alone) but also because most of the food is locally sourced, or they have a good reason to import. Their burrata for example comes from a small producer in Naples (Italy) which makes bio burrata with zero additives, their ice cream comes from a French producer who makes some of the most exquisite vanilla ice creams I have eaten.
If you get a chance book in advance and ask for a table by a window (so you also get to enjoy the view). The staff will supply you with a high chair if needed.
Enjoy!
