Chris Haughton books

Any one of Chris Haughton’s books, if not all of them should grace everyone’s bookshelves. Ssh! We Have a Plan is awesome and A Bit Lost is just the sweetest. I can’t wait to read his latest, Goodnight Everyone. I’m delighted Chris has shared his favourites with us today …

1) That is Not my Hat by Jon Klassen.  A book with dark black humour but very funny.

2) I Want my Hat Back by Jon Klassen. A story about a small fish who steals a hat from a rather larger fish.

3) Home by Carson Ellis. Just beautiful – one for everybody.

4) Hoot Owl by Sean Taylor and Jean Julien. Owl is not an ordinary owl. Hoot Owl is a master of disguise! Together Taylor and Julien have created a masterpiece.

5) There are Cats in this Book by Viv Schwarz. A fun book where you can turn the pages and flip the flaps and join in with the cats having fun.

6) Don’t let the Pigeon Drive the Bus by Mo Willems. A brilliantly funny, imaginative picture book.

7) The Bear’s Song by Benjamin Chaud. Where there are bees, there is honey. So when the bear wakes from hibernation he simply has to follow the bee! But where does his journey lead him?

8) Tiny : The Invisible World of Microbes by Nicola Davies. A book about microbes for the very young.

9) We’re going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen. A beautifully illustrated book full of repetition. An absolute classic.

10) Hooray for Fish! by Lucy Cousins. An eye-popping picture book which grasps the imagination of the young.
