Team Favourites: Water bottles

babyccino favourite water bottles

I was having a chat to my kids the other day about the environment and the amount of unnecessary waste we produce. One of my pet peeves is plastic water bottles. So we are going to try and make a concerted effort of taking a water bottle with us when we are out and about, instead of buying the plastic ones on the go. (Side note: in France we don’t have drinking fountains like the ones you find all over the US, not even in schools — no idea why).

Anyway we thought it might be fun to get the team to put together a little list of our favourite water bottles. Here it is!

  1. Of course I love the Bobble Water Bottles. But besides the fact they filter tap water and look cute I love that they truly DO NOT leak! I have even forgotten to push down the cap and thrown them in my purse but not a drop! – Polona
  2. It seems nearly every toddler in New York has this exact same bottle by Thermos, and for good reason: it keeps water nice and cold, and the pop cap with silicone straw inside makes for easy drinking and fewer spills. – Shannon
  3. The Mizu Life bottles are great bottles with a wide opening so it is easy to drink from. They are also easy to clean. Cool colours. The M6 size is great for the kids lunchbox. We use M8 for daytrips etc.. – Esther
  4. The Dopper bottles are very practical and versatile. I love their stylish Dutch design. The sturdy bottles that are dishwasher safe and there are many different colours to choose from. The kids love being able to drink from the “fancy” cup on a stand too. – Vicky  (Esther’s family also have used their Doppler bottles for years and are super happy with them. She ads that she likes the fact that all the parts are sold separately.)
  5. These funny looking Eau Good filter bottles are amazing. They come with a special stick of Japanese active charcoal that sits securely inside the bottle and makes the water taste delicious. After 6 months you can recycle the stick by boiling it in water, increasing its lifespan by a further 3 months. Kind of a handy water bottle and a fun science experiment in one! Plus they never leak. – Kate
  6. A friend recommended the BKR bottles to me for an interesting reason — they are transparent, so you can see if there is any accidental glunk floating in the water. I have been using one of these for a while now and love it.  Easy to clean and the little ones are small enough to be chucked into even a small(ish) handbag! – Emilie
  7. I like Klean Kanteen bottles — they are made of steel so super sturdy and durable, and they are easy to clean on the inside because of the bigger opening. You can buy toddler teats that fit on the bottle — when Caper was small I used it a lot in the car etc — and now I just use one of the other tops. – Esther

Do let us know if you have any preferred ones yourself –  I am sure we are missing some!
