At the beginning of the year, when Emilie and I were visiting the Playtime trade-show in Paris, we bumped into a beautiful, pregnant lady called Luisa, and her handsome husband and darling little boy Niko. We instantly had a click (you know how you sometimes have that with people?) and we became friends on the spot. Louise told us she had just launched an online children’s fashion shop together with her business partner Kelly (mum of Ava and Liv), and of course we exchanged business cards. When we got home and checked the boutique, we were so impressed — Niko + Ava just offers the most beautifully curated collection of kids fashion!
I love seeing gorgeous selections of some of my favourite brands (and some new to me), all mixed up and brought together in one place at Niko + Ava. Page after page is filled with the most adorable and special fashion finds, both for little boys as girls (sizing goes up to age 6 at the moment). There is even an exciting section of very want-able things for mamas and dadas (I can, BTW, recommend the sunglasses, I have had a pair of this brand for over a year and love them!). Many of the gorgeous clothing items in the mama selection are also available in girls’ sizing. So cute!
Last week Ava was picking flowers in the beautiful, wild garden of my parents-in-law, and she was wearing a summer outfit that Luisa styled especially for her. I love the way she mixed and matched brands, the way she does so beautifully for Niko + Ava as well. She chose a top in a super special linen/cotton blend and with a special, different cut, designed and made in Taiwan by Once. The shorts in a gold-coloured linnen are from Paade, a brand that we’ve been admiring and following for years and we’re so happy to see them in the Niko + Ava collection! Then she included the most beautiful flowery espadrilles from Sonatina (they come in adult sizing too!) and magical leather hair clips that can be used as a brooch too — again, from Paade.
At the ShopUp in LA last month, we met Luisa and her family again, which was so great! Niko + Ava had a beautiful stand there, and it was so nice to see some European brands that we love represented there. Anyway — I hope you enjoy discovering the collections at his pretty shop!
