I have recently discovered the work of Davina Bell and Allison Colpoys through their delightful award winning picture book, ‘The Underwater Fancy Dress Parade’. Their latest creation ‘Under the Love Umbrella’ is just as wonderful and it’s a loving delight for this time of year.
It’s a story filled with reassurance, love and comfort which is always present between parent and child and as the authors ask you to search through the book for love umbrellas you’ll soon feel a sense that you’re always surrounded by love throughout your day to day adventures. I love how the story ends by asking the question, ‘Who’s under your Love Umbrella?’. Adorable conversations begin every time which are so comforting to my girls as they think of their day to day adventures and when they need to feel protected. The lively illustrations and the pops of neon make it fun and fulfilling.
