Hooray! Our 9 Months book is finally out and available to order! Above is a little promo video we filmed a couple months ago (before Wilkie!) where we explain the inspiration behind the book, and you can see some sneak peeks at the pages inside.
As we mentioned in an earlier post, we have spent the past couple years writing, researching, editing, and working with illustrator Lizzy Stewart to create the book we have always wished we had: a beautifully illustrated fact-based book about pregnancy. It’s a book that celebrates the journey of pregnancy in a straight-forward, no-nonsense way — without euphemisms or silly, abstract language. From conception to birth, the book charts the stages of pregnancy through interesting facts and charming illustrations that will appeal to younger children, as well as more detailed information for older kids to discover. (When writing this book, Esther and I had all of our children in mind — from toddlers up to age 12 — and really hope the book will appeal to children of all ages.)
We hope you and your kids love it. We hope it opens up the dialogue about pregnancy, allowing you to discuss the details and facts in an open, honest way. If you happen to be pregnant, we hope it makes it easier for you to explain to your children what is happening in your body, how your baby is growing and how you’re feeling month by month.
